Another thing to try is to go into the OSD configuration in the GSdx plugin options and turn off the log and statistics monitor. Im fairly certain that it used to work, but havent used it. While all other keyboard/button shortcuts seem to be working, using one to trigger the 'rewind' function is having no effect with any of the systems emulated, regardless of which key or button I assign to it. This might help with frame pacing stability. Emulator: Mednafen 1.29.0 under Linux (x86/64), usually with Mednaffe 0.9.1. A new update for the Playstation 2 Emulator PCSX2 has been released today Many improvements and bugfixes were added in this release. If you love old-school video games, RetroArch is worth a look. The PS1 core is called Beetle PSX, and it's superior to most standalone original PlayStation emulators. You could also try changing "EnableVsyncWindowFlag" in PCSX2_ui.ini to see if that helps.Ī couple of things that might be placebos or might help, I'm not sure: if you're using Windows, download TimerTool and set it to the smallest resolution, 0.5 ms. RetroArch isn't a single emulator but a collection of emulators called cores that let you play thousands of classic games for dozens of consoles all on one PC.

PCSX2 doesn't cope well with the emulated framerate and monitor refresh rate not being the same or exact multiples, and it causes stuttering. One thing is very important here, either your monitor refresh rate has to be 59.94Hz (or multiple of) not 60, or you monitor can be exactly 60Hz but you need to set the emulated framerate to exactly 60 in PCSX2_vm.ini too. That's still a problem, though I find it is possible to greatly mitigate most of the time.
